Today the preschoolers learned how to make a W in sign language. They listened for words that began with /w/ and held up a W with their fingers.
Carson looked through a "window" as we sang a song.
Here Solia is painting W the Worm with watery mud (chocolate pudding.) It was pretty slimy!
Sophia did some whiteboard writing at a center.
Ava made a wonderful word necklace with letter beads.
Aidan practiced writing W's. Then wiped them away.
Abby, Amber, and Aubrey had fun building with blocks.
Emily, Carson, and Mac created a graph with an ice cube tray. They rolled a die, and put the corresponding number of counters in a column. Then they compared each column and reviewed more and less.
Mimi did some "whisper reading" with a pvc pipe phone. When she whispers into it, the sound is amplified in her ear.
Window Painting was a hit...not to mention, zero mess. Try it at home by putting a few Tablespoons of paint into a ziploc bag and taping it to the window. Practice your alphabet, shapes, or numbers. The possibilities are endless!

As part of our study of weather, Miss Liz demonstrated why it rains with this glass of water. The water represents the sky and the shaving cream the clouds. When the clouds get too heavy with rain (put in food coloring), it falls from the sky in rain drops.
The preschoolers listened to Miss Liz make thunder claps, and recreated the same number of raindrops on their cloud mats. Take a few minutes to look at the sky with your child and determine the weather.
