Silly faces

More silly faces. Can you tell these kids like to be silly?!

We've had a fun week with our Christmas theme! But I think the preschoolers were most excited about the surprise visit from Santa Claus today. He sneaked in the backyard and left us a bag of goodies, but he waved goodbye before he left!

Miss Brieann opened Santa's bag of goodies. Each child got a chocolate marshmallow pop and a Christmas pencil.

This week we reviewed the letters of the alphabet with some fun holiday activities. We colored letters on paper ornaments, and told each other the sound it made, before hanging it on our tree.

We played musical ornaments. When the holiday music stopped each child turned over an ornament to reveal a letter. Each child had the opportunity to tell what letter they were on and the sound it made.

The preschoolers got to ring jingle bells while we listened to the song.

We used red and white beads to make a pattern. Then made our pattern into a candy cane decoration.

At one of our centers, the preschoolers got to build with blocks and put train tracks together. They're getting to be pretty good builders!

We did a picture sort during centers. We matched pictures to their beginning letter.

We wrote letters to Santa Claus.

We worked on our fine motor skills by punching paper circles and gluing them on a triangle to make a Christmas tree. We also practiced cutting with scissors.

The preschoolers got to trace their name and letters of the alphabet at a center.

Students played with peppermint play dough and decorated gift bags with stamps and stickers.

Mimi brought candy canes for show-and-tell today.

Miss Brieann read us "The Gingerbread Baby," by Jan Brett. We decorated gingerbread men to add to our Christmas tree. Then for snack we made Gingerbread houses! Yum!
