M the Moose

We had fun this week learning about the letter M and Many Healthy Munchies!

Because we have learned so many letters,
we've started practicing how to blend the sounds to read words!

Miss Liz read a book titled "If You Give a Moose A Muffin" and then we had mini muffins for snack.

Madison brought meatballs to share with everyone.

Mimi brought an English muffin.

Aubrey's show and tell was her Minnie Mouse doll.

We took turns hiding a mouse around the room and used a map to help each other find it.

Everyone loved the silly monkey song.  It sure is a favorite of Sophia's!

Aubrey, Abby and Amber are pretending to cook with our healthy munchies.

We worked on our letter recognition and handwriting by writing letters from food labels.

Emily is coloring M the moose as he says "mmm" as he munches meatballs.

Carson and Mac are distinguishing between L sounds and M sounds at the beginning of words.

Madison and Aidan are exploring magnets.  They were an interesting new texture.

Miss Brieann is leading us in music time.  We pretended to be a band of recorder players with a conductor.

Mimi is using Marble Works to build a track for her marbles.

Along with learning all about M, we focused on our shapes.
Solia is using tangrams to build an alligator.

Mac and Carson are strengthening their fine motor skills by buttoning shapes on their button snakes.

We sorted shape buttons as a small group...

...and paper shapes individually.  Ava is gluing her shapes to paper.

Here are a few games you can play with your preschooler to reinforce this weeks concepts.

Next week we will focus on Nice Manners and counting 1 to 10.
