K the Kangaroo Kicks

We began our preschool morning with our usual name writing routine.  Brendan did a great job writing his name all by  himself!

Emily has become quick at clipping on clothespins to match the letters in her name.

The preschoolers kicked their feet as they said /k/ /k/ /k/ to learn the letter k sound.

Sophia circled all the k's she could find in this K the Kangaroo text.

Our theme this week is "Knowledge about our Bodies."  Miss Liz read a story to introduce our 5 senses.

Several children had the chance to test out one of their senses blindfolded.  Anniston tasted a goldfish cracker.

Abby had a little help identifying the smell of soap.

We made advent calendars.  Each preschooler traced the numbers 1 to 25, and put bubble wrap on their tree.  Pop one bubble each day to count down to Christmas!

Ian used pattern blocks to make the letter K.

Brendan enjoyed making lines and shapes on the geo board.

Gavin used dot stickers to make a K.

Chloe laid very still while Miss Liz traced around her body.  (Later we colored and labeled the parts of our body.)

These girls are playing doctor, and keeping Anniston healthy!
Porter made a body shaped snack with crackers and pretzels.

Here's Madison adding details and color to her body outline.

We used positional words (top, below, between, under, etc.) to describe the parts on our face as we drew them.  Here are Solia and Ava's self portraits!

We will continue to learn about the letter K on Thursday.  We will be walking to the grass park near Miss Liz's home for the last half hour of preschool.  Please plan on picking up your preschoolers at the park.  It is on the corner of Sundad and Indian Head (a few blocks north and west of Miss Liz's home.)
