We finished up our week of letter L today. We started off with show-and-tell. Then we learned more about letters, reptiles, and length.
Emily brought a lantern for show-and-tell.
Madison brought light bulbs and a lime.
Brendan shared figurines of Loki and Lizard Man.
Chloe brought her ladybug pillow pet.
Miss Brieann introduced the book, Mouse Count, by pointing out the front and back cover.
As she read, she placed felt mice into a jar and counted along with the book.
Students were asked to identify the beginning sound in pictures. Solia pointed out that apple begins with A.
Preschoolers were introduced to rulers as a unit of measurement. They used rulers to measure the length of these lizards.
Working in small groups, they cut out letters from magazines and sorted them in this empty egg carton.
Emily (above), Solia and Anniston (below) used other measurement tools to determine the length of objects in the classroom.
We made coconut trees with brown and green paper. Then stamped letters around them like the popular alphabet story, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
Please dress preschoolers warmly next week. We will be using the sensory tables outside even in the cooler weather. Have a great weekend!
