Safety Week

 We learned about safety this week as we studied the letter S.

 

 We sorted pictures of objects that are hot and not hot.  We learned to stay away from things that are hot and can hurt us. 

 We counted and identified numbers.

 

Emily celebrated her 5th birthday.  Happy Birthday!

 Ava's dad, Fireman Cody, visited us and talked about fire safety.

 He taught us that if we see a dangerous object such as matches or a weapon, we should "Stop. Run away, and tell an adult."  We learned that if our clothing catches on fire we should, "Stop, drop, and roll."  Review the fire safety pamphlet that was sent home to make sure your family will be ready in the event of a fire.

 The preschoolers also enjoyed trying on his tall boots, and taking home their own red helmet.  Thanks for visiting, Fireman Cody!  

 For show-and-tell Abby brought Snoopy.

 Madison brought syrup that she enjoys eating with pancakes and waffles.

 Miss Brieann talked about safety equipment (bike helmet, life jacket, sun glasses, oven mitts, etc.) and how it keeps us safe.

 We practiced our phone number too.

 

 Emily's dad, Officer Street also visited us at preschool.  He talked about keeping us safe from strangers and what to do if we get lost.  It is helpful if children know their first and last name, parents' names, address and phone number.

Officer Street talked about having a family code word that can be used in case your parents need someone else to pick you up from school.  If the individual knows the code word, that means it is safe to go with them.  We hope the students have learned more about safety this week.

Several parents have been asking if we're in need of any more donations.  If you'd like to help out, we could use more snacks on hand.  Non-perishable snacks such as crackers, pretzels, fruit snacks, and granola bars are just a few good ideas.  Thanks!
