H is for Horse, Hat, and Helicopter

Today we continued learning about the letter H.  Using strips of straight and curved paper, we put them together to form capital and lowercase H's.

We worked on blending sounds to make words, and reading -ap words.

Solia brought a hat and horse for show-and-tell.

Anniston showed a toy helicopter.

We enjoyed hearing another version of The Little Red Hen, and acting it out.  Each preschooler also brought home the bread they kneaded last week.  (Miss Brieann baked it for them and kept it fresh in her freezer.)  Enjoy!

We had horse races at the math center.  Each player's horse was either in lane 1, 2, or 3.  The horse could move forward whenever their number was rolled on the die.  We also talked about being a good sport whether our horse made it to the finish line first or last.

Emily, Porter, and Chloe enjoyed playing with farm animal toys.

Ava checked out our magnetic farm book.  We also acted out the Farmer and the Dell today, and painted with farm animal stamps.

Solia used a push pin to poke holes along the letter h.

Ian, Brendan, and Gavin practiced drawing people.  They began with a circle for a head.  Then added eyes, nose and mouth.  Miss Brieann asked them about other details on a person, such as a body, arms, and legs.  Drawing is also a great skill to practice at home.
