Giggles with Mother Goose

Our theme this week was "Giggles with Mother Goose."  We learned about several nursery rhymes with our puppet theater.

The children got to try it out themselves during centers.

Madison brought grass for show-and tell.

Emily's show-and-tell item for the letter G was a gorilla.

Aubrey brought a picture of her brother, Gavin.

Students enjoyed stamping the letters in their first name.

For this center activity students sorted capital and lowercase G's and matched them to the correct gumball machine.

Madison is exercising her fine motor skills by placing magnets on the white circles.

After hearing the rhyme, "Old Mother Hubbard," Abby and Sophia counted out bones that matched the numeral on each dog.

Using push pins to poke the letter G.

We made Green Gooey Gak to emphasize the sound in the letter G.

We made Gak by mixing glue, water, and green food coloring.  Then we added it to borax and water.

We mixed it with our hands.

It definitely was slimy and gooey!

The class got some wiggles out with this silly song called "The Tooty Ta!"  It's even funnier in person!
