We began our circus week by learning about E the Elephant. He makes the /e/ sound as he lifts heavy weights. We also did some e-xercising by running and jumping in place.
We identified capital and lowercase E's in our names.
Ian brought earmuffs for show-and-tell.
Sophia brought her yellow elephant.
Abby was excited to show us her blue elephant.
We put numbered eggs in order and counted elbow macaroni.
Brendan put magnets on our "E is for Elephant" mat.
After reading a story about Elmer the patchwork elephant, Ian put colored tiles on this elephant to make him patchwork like Elmer.
Gavin tried making an E with elastics on our geoboard.
These girls are clipping the right number of clothespins onto the elephant number cards.
We had trains, finger puppets, and puzzle pieces at the free play center.
Brendan is exploring the geoboard.
We have been learning about the sight word, "is."
We heard a story, Just a Little Bit, about an elephant who wanted to ride a see saw. Many animals had to pile on the other end to make him go up and down. Each preschooler took a turn to put objects on a balance so we could see if the items were heavier or lighter than another object.
We also had a visit from a circus clown...Um, I mean a very funny looking Miss Brieann!
We all got to take part in a circus act at preschool. We walked along a tight rope, crawled through a tunnel, jumped through hoops, and finished by leaping through a ring of fire.

Porter and Chloe enjoyed molding playdough into letters.
We even glued elbow macaroni on the letter E.
