This week we learned about M the Moose.
Ava and Sophia are making the action and sound that accompanies the letter M. They are saying "Mmm Mmm Mmm," as they rub their tummies.
Miss Liz read, If You Give a Moose a Muffin. Porter caught our comprehension ball to answer questions about the book.
After learning about healthy foods, preschoolers helped Miss Liz sort healthy and unhealthy food.
Anniston and Sophia enjoyed playing with pretend food, plates and bowls, in our mini-kitchen.
During centers, Ian wrote letters he recognized from food labels.
Gavin laced felt shapes with their matching colored felt mouse.
Brendan matched two halves of play Oreo cookies with their matching shapes.
Our 4-year-olds practiced -it words and sight words. Don't forget to work on these at home. Begin with 2 or 3 sight words. Add one at a time until mastered.
Preschoolers sorted and matched pictures of shapes.
We sampled 3 different kinds of muffins and graphed our favorites. Most of the class liked chocolate chip muffins the best!
Ava meticulously filled in her "m" with macaroni.
Solia brought magnets and marshmallows for show-and-tell.
Porter showed us some money.
Anniston brought a Mickey Mouse back scratcher. I could use one of these!
We have been singing rhyming songs at school. We learned how to make silly rhymes by replacing the first sound of a word with another letter. For instance, January became Banuary, Hanuary, and Ranuary!
Using a map of our classroom, preschoolers played hide-and-seek with "monkeys."
We enjoyed learning about music and movement.
We sorted shapes, and even used them to make pictures!
