N the Naughty Newt learns Super Manners!

 At preschool yesterday we reviewed letters and their sounds.  We also practiced "ig" words.

 Miss Brieann taught us the correct way to write the letter N.  We also learned that N the Naughty Newt says "n" "n" "n."

 Then she used her "Super Manners Powers" to teach the naughty newt good manners.

 The preschoolers learned how to have "Super Manners" too!

 At the math center, Anniston and Sophia played a Super Manners game.  They rolled a die, identified the number, and moved their player that many spaces.  They were also able answer questions about certain situations and how to use good manners.

 At the language arts center, Ava and Abby had more practice with the "ig" word family.

 Another basket had pieces to assemble super heros.

 Ian, Gavin, and Brendan stacked cups at the construction center.

 We had our snack after hearing a book about an alligator that learned the correct way to ask his mother for a cookie.  Ava was our snack helper.  Each preschooler asked, "Can I please have a cookie?" Then she gave them each a package of Nutter Butter cookies.  They also used the words "thank you," and "you're welcome."

 The preschoolers did a good job decorating the back of their "Super Manners" cape.

 Anniston, Porter, and Sophia explored our noodle sensory table.

Brendan used a wooden mallet to hammer nails (or golf tees) into a piece of styrofoam.

One more thing...Our theme next week is "Talents."  We are going to have a small talent presentation on Thursday, January 31st.  Please help your child identify a talent they have and can share.  They can show us a piece of art, a dance, sing a song, demonstrate a soccer kick, etc.  Other talents may include taking care of a pet, cleaning their room, folding towels, setting the table, washing dishes, or making others laugh.  You may also e-mail Miss Liz a picture or short video of your child and their talent.  Thanks!
