First Days of Preschool

 The First days of Preschool were filled with new and exciting things.

We got silly.

We got moving.

We got to work.

Preschoolers practiced following directions and drawing skills with chalk boards at circle time.

Faye worked on learning how to spell and write her name.

Trevin and Dahlin worked out their hand muscles cutting play dough into bits. 

Building fine motor skills is an important part of preschool. 

Luke and Gavin chose a basket activity to work on during centers. Allowing the preschoolers a center where they are in charge of their learning will foster independence. 

Atalya worked with her friends at the construction center to build.  This free play center will give preschoolers time for peer interactions. 

At the table, I am able to work with preschoolers in a small group setting.  This will be our language arts and math center. 

Logan painted and water smudged a coffee filter.

This was a fun way to talk about colors and work on fine motor skills.  It was a work out for their little fingers to squeeze the droppers. 

We worked on colors as a class and introduced sorting objects by color.  Try giving your preschooler a cup of fruit loops, colored beads or other small colored items and help sort them by color. 

I had a wonderful time this past week and cannot wait for future adventures! 

Also look for a photo order form coming home next week.  A professional photographer will be taking individual pictures of each child September 16.
