Fall Week

This Saturday is the first day of fall.  We're getting ready by learning about it in preschool!  Leaves change colors and fall from the trees (unless you live here in Las Vegas), apples and pumpkins are harvested, animals such as squirrels prepare for winter, Halloween and Thanksgiving are celebrated, and football season begins!

Miss Liz read a story about pumpkins.  Then the class put story cards in sequence to show how a pumpkin grows.

Chloe, Solia, and Porter helped us put 3 pumpkins in order (small, medium, and large.)  Porter was a good sport.  The large one was quite heavy!

We got some wiggles out by singing a song we learned two weeks ago about an alligator.

Abby put pictures of acorns in order from largest to smallest.

Gavin is strengthening his fine motor skills by poking holes along the lines of this sunflower with a push pin.

Miss Liz reviewed "at" words with the 4-year-olds and introduced a new fall book.  The 3-year-olds reviewed the names and sounds of A and B, and also worked on a fall book.

The preschoolers enjoyed sorting leaves several different ways.  In this picture we sorted by color.

Next we put our leaves on a graph and discovered that most of our leaves were yellow maple leaves.  We had the fewest of the red oak leaves.

Here's a music video that teaches about autumn...

We will have more fall fun on Thursday!
